As it is reported by commercialpropertynews.com, it said that Richard Meier & Architects LLP, based locally, has designed Richard Meier On Prospect Park, a 15-story glass-walled condominium building located in Brooklyn at 1 Grand Army Plaza. Construction began in August and is slated for completion in the fall of 2008.
The development is part of the Distinctive Properties line—a group of luxury communities designed by world-renowned architects and developed by SDS Procida, a New York-based real estate development and management company, in conjunction with Sheldon Gordon Group Holdings. Corcoran Group Marketing, a local NRT Inc. consulting, marketing and sales services provider, has been chosen to exclusively market and sell the units, which will go on sale this month. PB Capital Corp., a New York real estate lender, is providing the undisclosed financing for the project.
Procida said that Meier’s design hallmarks—openness and profusion of light—will be seen in all public spaces and private residences. One-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units, as well as penthouse units, will range in size from 962 to 3,408 square feet. They will feature 4-in. oak plank flooring. Many residences will include large, private balconies or outdoor terraces that blend interior and exterior space. The outdoor spaces will be constructed with translucent glass. They will also feature Intellikey entry door hardware and are outfitted with Home Integrated Technology Network. Units will be priced at about $1,200 per square foot
