Condo plan passes hurdle in Winsted

A developer gained unanimous approval Wednesday from Winsted’s Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission to build 48 condominiums in 10 buildings in the northeast corner of town.

Louis Segneri of Mountainview of Litchfield said he’s not in a rush to seek the same blessing from the Planning and Zoning Commission. “We’re not in a hurry, with the housing market being the way it is,” Segneri said, adding that he expected to go before the zoning panel in late spring.

The wetlands panel attached 19 conditions to the project’s approval based in part on a review by an engineer who reviewed the project on the town’s behalf. No members of the public spoke at Wednesday’s hearing on the project.
