The city of Seattle may allow taller apartment and condo buildings near downtown — up to 125 feet — if developers make some units available for middle income residents.

Those would be people who earn too much to qualify for subsidized housing but not enough to be able to afford market rates. Deputy Mayor Tim Ceis sees says the idea is to ensure city housing for the middle class.
