Home Apparently Purchased From Mayoral Campaign Contributor
July 15th, 2007 - Category: Condo, Real EstateQuestions surrounding a Telemundo newscaster’s relationship with the Los Angeles mayor are focusing on the woman’s Studio City condominium, KNBC reported.
Apparently, the man who sold a condominium to newscaster Mirthala Salinas was also a campaign contributor to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, according to KNBC.
The condo was purchased from Steve Bullock, who donated $1,000 to Villaraigosa’s campaign in 2005, KNBC reported.
Bullock is also the CFO of Cerrell Associates, a company with a long-standing track record of doing business with the city of Los Angeles.
Bullock said he did not know the buyer in the condo sale and that it was a “very straight up real estate transaction.”
A spokesman for Villaraigosa said he had no involvement in the transaction and wasn’t aware of the seller.
Villaraigosa spoke at a dinner in downtown Los Angles on Friday night, where KNBC asked him if he knew the man who sold the condominium to the newscaster is also a campaign contributor.
“I actually had no knowledge of who sold what to who, and my staff responded to that,” Villaraigosa said.
