This was announced by Bienvenido de Castro, vice president for external affairs of E. Guanzon Inc. (EGI), the project’s contractor.

De Castro said that in response to the increasing demand for hotel room accommodations especially in Mactan Island, proponents of the EGI Cebu Mactan Condominium Hotel have fast-tracked the construction of the condominium hotel complex’s Building 3.

“Due to the expected increase in foreign and local tourists in the region, the decision to build a hotel is a timely and smart move,” read a statement that EGI furnished to Sun.Star Cebu.

The EGI Cebu Mactan Condominium Hotel Building 3, which will have both sea and landscape views, will house 179 rooms, two penthouse and commercial units along with amenities like coffee shops, free use of swimming pool, restaurants and shuttle service, among others.

Prices of units range from P1.85 million to P2.45 million.

De Castro said 23 units have been reserved for prospective buyers.

The Cebu Mactan Condominium Hotel was constructed as an expansion to the EGI City by the Sea Resort and Hotel. The condo-hotel is located within EGI’s four-hectare property in Maribago, Lapulapu City, Cebu.

The condo-hotel is the latest addition to existing resorts in Mactan Island, which include the Shangri-la’s Mactan Island Resort and Spa, Hilton Cebu and Plantation Bay.

The entire development will house a retirement community, commercial centers, resorts and recreational facilities.

Purchasing a condominium unit in EGI Cebu Mactan Condominium Hotel is considered an investment opportunity for buyers who intend to use the unit as a vacation home or to occupy the units for just a couple of weeks in a year.

Condo unit owners, who include their condos in EGI’s pool of hotel rooms, do not have to pay maintenance charges when they are not occupying the property. This is because EGI hotel management will manage and operate the units like any room in a hotel.

“You’ll earn a fixed guaranteed rental income every month and at the end of each year and share the profits of the hotel operation, making ownership of the condominium unit an income generating,” the EGI statement said.
