With a view to meet the growing needs of the Hotel & Tourism industry for visiting Indian as well as Foreign tourists, the Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Gen. (Retd.) S.F.Rodrigues, PVSM VSM, today inaugurated “Hotel Chandigarh Beckons” set up by the Chandigarh Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology in Sector 42
Chandigarh, today.

An innovative project, this hotel will where accommodate the tourists from India and abroad, the local demands of southern sectors of the City in providing quality accommodation, boarding & lodging facilities, besides enhancing the level of training to the students of the institute, in an ideal environment.

Impressing upon the Management of the Institute, the need to make it a Center of Excellence, General Rodrigues asked the Home Secretary, MD CITCO, Director Tourism and the Principal of the Institute to coordinate the endeavour in upgrading the support structure and state-of-the-art facilities to provide best services to the visiting guests of different categories. He said that the Business Center and the Convention hall must be equipped with an advanced technology backup support systems to meet varied professional requirements of guests.

General Rodrigues went round the various facilities and inspected the Restaurant, Conference Room, Guests Rooms, lounge and suggested the management to bring about further interior decorative improvements. He also asked the management to improve the furnishing of the rooms and other service delivery sections and to pay particular attention to the maintenance of the Hotel Complex, Indoor installations and furniture. He also emphasized the need for instituting a responsive mechanism to ensure the provision of professional service to the guests. He also interacted with the staff and faculty of the Hotel Management Institute.

This Hotel has 22 spacious rooms and 4 suites equipped with all
necessary facilities.with resonable tariff for Single/Double Rooms
Rs.1400/& Rs.1900/ for a Suit per day+ Govt. Taxes. It has a
restaurant” Atithi”, banquet hall,”Greetings” and conference room
with all professional amenities. The Hotel also provides a good
venue, ‘ Summit ” for conferences, meetings events for up to 150
people.

The well-loaded Bar ” Kick- Start” welcomes to drink-lovers. The
combination of the hotel with the institute is an additional feature, which will produce better trained students, to meet the requirement of hotel & tourism industry of the region.
