Waikiki hotel renamed a Hilton

The Waikiki Prince Kuhio hotel in Hawaii officially became the Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Thursday following the completion of $65 million in renovations, Hilton Hotels Corp. said.

The hotel, situated on the Diamond Head end of Waikiki, features 601 guest rooms and suites, a signature restaurant, lobby bar, pool deck, business center, fitness center and meeting venues. It is one block from the Waikiki Beach and within walking distance of the area’s major activities and attractions, Hilton said.

The hotel is operated by San Francisco-based Stanford Hotel Corp. under a franchise license agreement with Hilton. It is the second Hilton branded property in Waikiki, Hilton said.

Beverly Hills-based Hilton (NYSE: HLT) is a global hospitality company with more than 2,900 hotels and 500,000 rooms in 78 countries and territories.
