n the summer of 2009, a six-story, $60 million sports condominium hotel will rise on South Main Street in Blacksburg.

Dubbed The Colosseum and marketed as luxury-loaded must-haves for affluent Virginia Tech sports fans, the project’s 172 units will be priced to sell from the $170,000s to low $800,000s.

Fully furnished and equipped with wedding space, private clubhouse and a day spa, the project punctuates a gameday condo development that arrived in Blacksburg in 2005 and has changed the face of several college towns.

Unlimited Construction Inc. of Radford is partnering with A and M Investors to develop the project.
