Mellon Financial Corporation announced that Erin M. Gorman has been appointed national sales manager of its Private Wealth Management mortgage group. Gorman will be based in Mellon’s Boston office and will report to Lawrence Hughes, executive director.

Gorman returns to Mellon with more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of the mortgage business. Prior to rejoining Mellon, she was founder and managing principal of her own Boston-based mortgage brokerage boutique, specializing in the high-end marketplace. Previously, Gorman was senior vice president with GuardHill Financial Corporation, a New York-based mortgage broker. In addition, during her nine years with The Boston Company’s (acquired by Mellon in 1993) jumbo mortgage division, Gorman was consistently a top-ranked mortgage sales producer. She received her bachelor’s degree from Regis College and her master’s degree in business administration from Suffolk University.
