The Sieger Suarez Architectural Partnership has been named architect for St. Regis Resort & Residences, a development on nine beachfront acres across from Bal Harbour Shops in Bal Harbour.

Groundbreaking is set for later this year, with completion expected in 2010.

All condo and hotel units in the project’s three towers will be rotated 45 degrees to maximize ocean views. Architectural features will include 45-foot vertical glass walls.

The project by Starwood and The Related Group will have 268 residences, 36 condo-hotel suites and 183 hotel rooms. All units will have wireless handheld devices that allow residents to e-mail requests directly to their butler.

The sales center is in the lobby of the Sheraton Bal Harbour Hotel, across from Bal Harbour Shops.
