Hotel plan for Farnsfield garage
October 10th, 2006 - Category: HotelPLANS have been revealed for a new 60-bedroom hotel in Farnsfield aimed at boosting the area as a tourism and business hotspot.
Landowners Gary and Denise Ferriman want to flatten their existing White Post Garage and redevelop the site as a crowd-pulling hotel and restaurant complex, complete with car parking for 155 vehicles.
They say the development will be next to the A614 and will also see a third of the proposed site turned into a scenic grass and woodland area for hotel visitors.
The go-ahead proposals have been submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council and planning councillors are expected to decide on whether to give them the green light at a meeting later this year.
Design company Jackson Design Associates has helped put together the project and spokesman Martin Hubbard told Chad: “It aims to provide quality overnight accommodation and eating facilities in Sherwood of which there is little range at this moment in time.
“It will also appeal to businesses of all scales with the potential to hold functions for around 150 people.”
